Theory Test

The theory test is made up of 50 multiple choice questions (the pass mark is 43) and 14 Hazard Perception clips - 13 clips have  1 hazard and 1 clip has 2 hazards - each hazard scoring a maximum of 5 points each = 75 in total (the pass mark is 44). More>>

The Theory test is available in different languages other than English:

The Theory test can be delivered in British Sign Language by an on-screen signer for candidates who are deaf or have other hearing difficulties.

Practical Test

The Practical Test is to ensure you can drive safely and to check your knowledge of the Highway code, by the way you apply it to your driving. You must be able to read a number plate at a minimum distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet).

At the start of the Test you will be asked 2 show me/Tell me questions about your car. You are allowed a maximum of 15 driving (minor) faults, but NO serious or dangerous faults. More>>
